Conference on Russia-Vietnam relations prospects

(VOVworld) – A conference in Moscow on Friday reviewed Russia-Vietnam relations and discussed potentials cooperation in energy, culture, and education.

Russia’s leading scholars and researchers also exchanged views on how Vietnam can help Russia tighten links with other ASEAN members.

Russia will be the first leg of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’ first trip abroad, which conference participants highly appreciated. They thought it will elevate the traditional bilateral friendship.

Dimitry Mosyakov, Director of the Centre for Southeast Asia, Australia, and Oceania of the Institute of Oriental Studies, said that Russia and Vietnam have gained mutual trust and understanding in politics, economics, and culture. He added that during Prime Minister Phuc’s coming visit, the two countries’ leaders will discuss stronger cooperation in nuclear power, oil refinery, agriculture, and military technology, as well as in global political issues.
