Courts urged to stringently handle corruption cases

(VOVworld)- President Tran Dai Quang has urged the courts to work more closely with investigative, procuracy and other relevant agencies to quickly and firmly try cases of corruption and violations of the economic laws.

At a meeting held by the Supreme People’s Court in Hanoi on Thursday, the President, who also chairs the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, asked the court sector to enhance judicial cooperation with other countries and make use of foreign assistance to improve its capacities. He stressed the hard job of the courts in the context of economic and social difficulties and increasing civil, economic, and trade disputes and administrative complaints. The President said:“Courts at all levels need to ensure security, protect the socialist rule of law and abide by judicial principles as stipulated in the Constitution and law. The court must ensure correct judgments”.

At the meeting, President Quang also revealed the appointment of 80 high-level judge positions.
