Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh declared Acting President of Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) -Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh will serve as Acting President of Vietnam until the National Assembly elects a new President, according to a statement of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, on behalf of the Assembly’s Standing Committee, on Sunday signed the statement of the 14th National Assembly’s Standing Committee on implementing the acting presidency to Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh. The statement is based on Vietnam Constitution, the Law on National Assembly Organization and the conclusion of the Politburo on assigning a Party Central Committee member to assume the post of acting president of Vietnam.
