(VOVworld)- On Saturday. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met with his counterparts from Estonia and Romania in the US.

At a meeting with Estonian Foreign Minister Marina Kaljurand, Minh expressed his hope that the two Foreign Ministries will strengthen cooperation in the new future. The Estonian Foreign Minister agreed on the importance of resolving disputes in the East Sea in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, and the soon-adopted Code of Conduct in the East Sea.

At a meeting with Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Lucian Aurescu, Mr. Minh urged Romania to recognize Vietnam’s market economy status, and boost the EU to soon approve the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement. The two leaders shared experience in settling disputes at sea through peaceful means and agreed to work closely at bilateral and multi-lateral forums.
