(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has said that Vietnam has no choice but to develop Artificial Intelligence because AI is a big opportunity that Vietnam has to seize.

Mr. Dam told the 2019 Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day (AI4VN) held in Hanoi on Friday that AI is no longer a scientific issue; it’s a socio-economic development issue. AI helps develop a safe and civilized society and stronger country with its application in smart city, transport, security control, and information security.
The Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day is expected to create momentum for the development of AI in Vietnam by connecting relevant parties in institutes, universities, businesses, tech groups and start-ups. The two-day event attracted around 2,000 participants, who also attended workshops on AI in tourism, health, education and finance.
