Mr. Phuc said Vietnam is now considered great destination to ASEAN investors and a potential market for their exports. Vietnam is negotiating the Trans- Pacific Partnership Agreement which both Vietnam and the US are members and is expected to open up even greater trade opportunities between the two nations. Phuc hoped that Vietnam will have opportunities to access other partners’ markets with low tax rates and less technical barriers.

Ambassador Wagar said most US enterprises in Singapore consider Vietnam as the first choice in their plans to expand investment in the region, adding that the country’s commitment to improve business climate will bring more US investment.
