(VOVworld) – Poland’s Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski summoned German Ambassador in Warsaw Rolf Nikel on Sunday over anti-Polish comments by German politicians related to policies of Poland’s new government. Many German politicians said they are skeptical of the validity of bills approved by Poland’s new government. Parliamentary group leader of the ruling Christian Democratic Union of Germany/ Christian Social Union, Volker Claude, called for economic sanctions against Poland if Poland continues to violate the principles of a legitimate state. Head of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the European Parliament, Herbert Reul, urged financial sanctions against Poland if political dialogue becomes meaningless.
