(VOVworld) – National Assembly deputies have agreed on the importance of issuing a Law on Legal Aid to make the work more professional and effectively utilize resources when providing legal services for those in need.

At the National Assembly Standing Committee meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday, lawmakers recommended that all people entitled to legal aid should be included in the law to ensure citizen’s rights.

Representatives from investigative agencies asked the government to clarify the kind of people in need of legal aid over the past years, as well as ways and locations for providing legal aid.

Deputies also focused on the need to review practical demands, anticipate the resources for law enforcement in accordance with the country’s socio-economic situation, and ensure the regulations’ feasibility.
