Duterte apologizes for war in Marawi
(VOVWORLD) - Fillipino President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday apologized to local people for the damage caused during the military campaign to figh militants loyal to the Islamic State in Marawi
He also stressed the magnitude of eliminating ISIS threats. Duterte hoped the people would understand, underlining that the US backed airstrikes will continue and are vital for the operation in Marawi.

More than 370 people have been killed since fighting broke out 5 weeks ago between government forces and ISIS-inspired insurgents in Marawi.
