East Sea studies awarded

(VOVWORLD) - 15 research and journalistic works have won the 2018 East Sea Studies Awards hosted by the Foundation for East Sea Studies.

Former Deputy Foreign Minister Le Cong Phung told the award ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday that the East Sea studies movement launched by the Foundation has left a profound impact on the public.

“There have been 500 articles and projects related to the East Sea over the past 6 years. They are of great political significance and have raised awareness of the East Sea, particularly among young people and scholars. The movement has captured the interest of people in Vietnam and from overseas," said Mr. Phung.

Head of the jury board Le Van Cuong said the entries serve as valuable references for Vietnam’s maritime policy making.
