(VOVworld) - E-commerce creates a favorable business environment for small and medium-sized enterprises, said Dr. Nguyen Dinh Chuc, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Regional Sustainable Development.

At a workshop Tuesday in Hanoi on the impact of the internet and e-commerce on Vietnam’s SMEs, Chuc said the internet and e-commerce help reduce transaction costs, create a level playing field, expand communications between businesses, and decrease information costs. This enables enterprises to access international markets and information at a lower cost and reach a wider range of customers.

From 2012-2013, the internet and telecommunication infrastructure in Vietnam has seen considerable growth. Vietnam now has more than 30 million internet users and around 17 million 3G subscribers.
