Egypt’s Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Waly
(VOVworld) – On Wednesday Egypt’s Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Waly ordered the dissolution of 99 non-governmental organizations accused of having relations with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The order was based on a September 2013 court ruling which banned all activities of associations with Brotherhood ties, confiscated their assets, and established a committee to manage the confiscated property.

The verdict also banned the activities of any MB branches which were founded by Brotherhood funds or receive any form of support from the Brotherhood.

Minister Wali said the assets of the dissolved NGOs will be allocated to a fund for NGOs and civil society organizations.
