(VOVworld) – The Egyptian Army said on Tuesday that it has launched a massive military operation to fight the Islamic State in the Sinai Peninsula, killing 29 militants.

On Monday, Egyptian security forces began operations against the IS in Rafah, Shikh Zuweid, and El-Arish in the northern Sinai Peninsula. Two Egyptian soldiers, including one officer, were killed and 4 others were injured when their car was bombed during the operations.
