Especially disadvantaged areas centered at VN’s poverty reduction program

(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh has asked the implementation of the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction from 2016 to 2020 to focus on especially disadvantaged areas and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities.

Mr. Ninh has assigned the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance to make total capital estimates for the program.

More than 2.6 billion USD is expected to be allocated from the State budget for the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction until 2020, according to MOLISA.

Mr. Ninh asked to restructure capital sources in the direction of order of priorities and increase investment in the areas that report a high rate of poverty.

He stressed that ministries, agencies, and localities should pay attention to fuel resources for production, diversify livelihood earnings, and expand effective poverty reduction models.
