French President Emmanuel Macron on the sideline of the 72th meeting of the UN General Assembly said France still supports the deal. He called for new provisions to better control missile production and related activities, an extension of the deal after 2025, and continued discussion with Iran about regional issues. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani told the UN General Assembly that Iran will not re-negotiate the deal.

US President Donald Trump and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson have said the US may withdraw from the deal if it is not adjusted.
