EU presses ahead on legal actions against Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland over migration

(VOVWORLD) - The European Commission sent reasoned opinions, the next step in infringement procedures, to the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland for non-compliance with their legal immigrant relocation obligations on Wednesday.

The Commission launched infringement procedures by sending letters of formal notice to the three countries but it said the three countries' replies to the letter were not satisfactory as none included any indication that they intended to comply.

The three countries were given one month to comply. If they refuse to comply, the Commission may refer the case to the Court of Justice, which may impose financial penalties.
