EVFTA expected to boost Vietnam, Czech economic ties

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and the Czech Republic will see breakthroughs in their future economic cooperation once the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) is ratified and put into effect, according to a seminar in Prague on Wednesday attended by 100 Czech officials and entrepreneurs.

Presentations at the seminar described potentials for cooperation in economics, labor, and tourism. According to Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan, Vietnam has hosted regular trade and tourism promotion events in the Czech Republic. Their top priorities are showcasing Vietnam’s strength in agriculture and seafood exports and popularizing the EVFTA to Czech businesses. Ambassador Tuan said: “Today we will brief the Czech officials and enterprises on the EVFTA. We hope they will lobby the Czech government to sign and implement it as soon as possible.”

Vietnam’s partners in the Czech Republic shared their experience in seizing the opportunities created by the EVFTA.
