On display are 300 documents, images, and maps on the history and development of Sai Gon city, now Ho Chi Minh City, since 1698 to 1945. They include documents of the French built architectural works in Sai Gon from the late 19th century to early 20th century.

French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Vincent Floreani said: “Ho Chi Minh City – Sai Gon was nicknamed “Pearl of the Far East” and considered as small Paris. The exhibition shows us the city’s cultural diversity and its development. It’s a valuable treasure, reflecting the city’s development potential. The exhibition is a chance to review achievements and enhance bilateral relationship.”

The exhibition of items being kept at Vietnamese and French archives agencies will run until November 24.
