The exhibition marks the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory which ended French colonial rule in Vietnam. The exhibition is comprised of three sections, highlighting the strategic preparations for the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, the 56 days of the campaign, and the 1954 Geneva Conference. Nearly 150 documents, maps, and other items are on display, which have been kept in Vietnam’s archives and cultural agencies, as well as the French Ministry of the Armed Forces. Many of the documents were only decoded as recently as 2016 and are being made public in Vietnam for the first time. Vu Nam Hai, Director of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, said: "Our museum will select several never-before-seen documents and artifacts to add to our display  to offer visitors a better understanding of the Dien Bien Phu victory."

The exhibition will run until May 10 at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum.
