Facebook corrects wrongful presentation of Vietnam's map

(VOVWORLD) - Facebook has fixed a map of Vietnam to bring Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelagoes back on Vietnam’s territory map again.
Facebook corrects wrongful presentation of Vietnam's map - ảnh 1 Paracel and Spratly islands were removed from the map column of the Advertisement app on Facebook relevant to China.

Le Quang Tu Do, an official from the ministry of Information and Communications, said a Facebook representative has said that there was some “confusion” over the map, that it is a technical error without political intention.

Facebook has immediately fixed its wrongful representation of Vietnam’s sovereignty on its map. The map depicts the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelagoes as Chinese territory.

Vietnam has consistently affirmed that it has full legal basis and historical evidence to prove its sovereignty over the two archipelagoes in the East Sea. It has repeatedly asserted that all activities violating Vietnam's territorial sovereignty over the islands go against international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS).
