Vietnam has welcomed more than 1,400 Chinese tourists through the Lao Cai International border gate on Monday, the fist day of the Lunar New Year.

They will visit Ha Long Bay before traveling southward to visit other famous sites. The Lao Cai tourist sector expects to receive 1 million tourists this year. Last year, the province welcomed more than 900,000 tourists to earn revenues of over 1,000 billion VND. Le Anh Dai, Director of the Binh Minh Travel agency says: “We have prepared tourist guides, and other services such as vehicles, and sight-seeing tickets. This year, we aim to serve 300 to 500 tourists. We offer three packages including traveling by train to Ha Long Bay, by car from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh, and caravan tours to some scenic spots in northern provinces such as Sa Pa resort town.”

Also on Saturday, two fights from Russia carrying over 250 tourists landed at Cam Ranh airport in the central province of Khanh Hoa. Three first passengers were granted special gifts including free services in popular tourist sites in the city. The provincial tourist sector targets to welcome 500 foreign tourists this year.
