Chinese swimmer Liu Xiang broke the women's 50m backstroke world record. Two world records were broken in archery, both by South Korean athletes. A world record was also set in shooting by a Chinese Taipei athlete and a weightlifting world record by an Iranian lifter. The 18th Asian Games, where more than 10,000 athletes are competing, will end on September 2^nd.
