Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vu Hong Nam, who is also Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, said Vietnam has been praised for its potential to become a startup nation. A network to connect startups at home and abroad will continue to expand.

In his address, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh city's Party Committee, urges a close connection of scientists and businesses.

“Even with little money, people in Asia and Vietnam in particular can start their businesses. We need a support mechanism for setting an innovative startup ecosystem. The government and municipal authorities have created startup support programs but they can only be successful with the participation of scientists and entrepreneurs,” Nhan said.

The forum was a follow-up to last year’s forum on connecting Vietnamese startups in the US and Vietnam.
