Several articles praised Vietnam’s political stability, high economic growth, social progress, and equality. In an article titled “30 years of reform with targets of wealthy people and a strong country,” Joseph Ahekoe, who was sent to Vietnam to cover the 12th National Party Congress earlier this year, said that after the 30 years of reform which began in 1986 Vietnam is rapidly industrializing, modernizing and integrating internationally. According to the article, the past three decades were an important period which witnessed the growth of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people. In addition to articles on Vietnam’s Party Congresses and interviews with Vietnamese leaders, the magazine discusses the evolution of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and Hoi An, and reproduces documents and maps evidencing Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.
