Gac Ma soldiers commemorated in Danang

(VOVWORLD) -The Truong Sa Soldiers Liaison Board on Tuesday in Da Nang held a requiem to remember naval soldiers who died defending Gac Ma (Johnson South) Reef in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago three decades ago.

War veterans, martyrs’ family members, Buddhist followers, and local residents burned incense and prayed for the 64 Vietnamese soldiers who died in a battle on March 14, 1988. As part of the requiem, an art performance was held, sharing stories honoring the fallen soldiers.
