Germany strengthens military-police anti-terrorism cooperation

(VOVworld) - Germany’s Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said Thursday that Germany is in the “crosshairs of terrorism” and pressed plans for the military to cooperate closely with the police to deal with potential large-scale attacks.

Speaking at an air operations center, Minister von der Leyen said Germany’s military and police already work together on disaster response and preventing attacks like the one on September 11, 2001, or chemical and biological attacks. According to von der Leyen, Germany must prepare for anticipated threats following attacks in Paris and Brussels which wounded hundreds of people.
