Get-together to celebrate journalist Phan Quang’s 85th birthday

(VOVworld) - A get-together was held on Monday in Ho Chi Minh City to mark the 85th birthday of journalist Phan Quang who has tirelessly contributed to Vietnam’s media over the past 60 years. Phan Quang, who used to write for Cuu Quoc or the National Salvation newspaper during the wars against the French colonialists, worked for the Nhan Dan or People’s newspaper when peace was declared.

He then became the Deputy Minister of Information, National Assembly deputy, President of the Vietnamese Journalists Association, and  Director General of Radio the Voice of Vietnam. Speaking at the event, Vice President of the Vietnamese Writers’ Association Le Quang Trang said: "Journalist Phan Quang has a made significant literary contribution to Vietnam’s revolution. His articles, essays and memoirs are rich in information, his thoughts, and are very close to life. His publications have had a great impact on the country’s development."
