Global economy forecast to grow 3.9% in 2018

(VOVWORLD) - Finance ministers and central bank governors from the world’s 20 leading industrial and developing countries (G20) met in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Monday, to discuss global economic issues.

Participants shared opinions on the international financial architecture, the global tax system, and financial regulation. They also addressed concerns about what a trade war and rising protectionism would do to world economic growth. International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde said the world economy potential is positive and called for necessary reforms. She repeated an IMF forecast that the global economy will grow 3.9% this year.
