(VOVworld) –The 2016 Golden Kite Awards ceremony took place in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.  “Sai Gon, I Love You”, a film by Ly Minh Thang, was voted Best Feature Film by the Viet Nam Cinematography Association. Vu Ngoc Phuong, director of “12 Zodiac: Five Steps of Love” was named Best Director and Vu Phuong Anh received the Best Actress award. The award for Best Actor went to Ha Hien in “Shoot”.

Golden Kite Awards 2016

The Golden Kite award for Best TV Series went to Viet Nam Television Film Centre’s Zippo, Mustard and You. Its directors, Emeritus Artist Trong Trinh and Tiến Huy, received Best Director awards. The Viet Nam Animation Studio’s “Mannequin Boy” was voted Best Animated Film, and its director, Emeritus Artist Pham Hong Son, was named Best Director. The award for Best Documentary Film went to “A Preventive Measure of Coastal Erosion” by director Phung Ngoc Tu. Last week, all Golden Kite Award-nominated films were screened free of charge at Ho Chi Minh City cinemas.
