(VOVworld) – The Government Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs marked its 70^th anniversary and received the Independence Order, first class, on Tuesday.

In his address, President Tran Dai Quang urged efforts to implement the strategy and action program on ethnic minority affairs until 2020 and developing related laws and policies. He said efforts should also be made to boost production and reduce poverty towards achieving sustainable growth in all areas: “It is essential to develop a contingent of officials in charge of ethnic minority affairs and boost communication and mass mobilization. The role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and people’s organizations should be given greater attention while theoretical research and international cooperation be boosted to stimulate growth in remote and ethnic areas.”
