Government monthly meeting for March

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung chaired the government monthly meeting for March in Hanoi on Wednesday. Cabinet members discussed socio-economic development for last year and in the first quarter of this year.

Vietnam’s GDP in the first 3 months of 2015 increased by 6.03%. Prime Minister Dung asked cabinet members to overhaul the implementation of measures to stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, reduce budget overspending, maintain import surplus at 5%, increase exports by 10%, and stabilize interest and exchange rates.

He also required ministers to be serious in developing laws and ordinances and asked localities to deploy media planning and care for ethnic minorities and policy beneficiaries. The government leader also called for the equitization of 289 state-owned enterprises to be completed by this year. Cabinet members also commented on the draft law on the organization of the government.
