Government wishes to receive straightforward opinions from businesses

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a dialogue with 2,000 business representatives in Hanoi on Wednesday. 

In his keynote speech, the Prime Minister recalled the first meeting with businesses in Ho Chi Minh City last year, saying that it created momentum for businesses, government agencies and provinces to tackle challenges. He said this was an opportunity to listen to business concerns after one year implementation of government resolution 35 on business development:“In this meeting, we will map out future plans to create breakthrough in business development. The government wants to receive straightforward opinions from businesses that have daily experience and good understanding of the competitive environment through candid, sincere and constructive dialogue.”

Business representatives suggested solutions to address problems in access to land and capital resources, hospital construction, tourism development, property market, husbandry industry and TPP commitment deliveries.” Nguyen Van Thao is the Director of Viet My fertilizer company:“I am pleased to join the meeting between the Prime Minister and businesses. This is a driving force for us to operate and place more trust in the government and local authority. The Prime Minister will have practical directives following this event to foster business growth.” 

After the dialogue, Prime Minister Phuc worked with leaders of ministries and agencies to address businesses’ complaints. He asked the State Bank of Vietnam to channel credits for development, particularly in agriculture and rural areas. The Prime Minister called for efforts to shift 1.4 million self-employed households of the total 5 million self-employed households into business model by 2020 as a way to boost socio-economic development and increase budget collection.
