(VOVOworld) – The port city of Hai Phong is seeking UNESCO recognition of Cat Ba archipelago as a world natural heritage as part of the 3^rd annual Red Flamboyant festival to be held in early May in Hai Phong.

With more than 300 islands, Cat Ba archipelago was recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve and has typical characteristics of Asia’s biggest limestone islands. The white-headed langurs of Cat Ba are now endangered and protected by many international organizations including UNESCO.
