Vietnam's President Tran Dai Quang (right) received Haitian Senate President Youri Latortue

President of the Senate of Haiti Youri Latortue left Hanoi on Tuesday, concluding an official visit to Vietnam. During his 4-day visit, Latortue held talks with Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, paid courtesy visits to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang, and met Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Both sides highlighted the significance of the first exchange of delegations between the two legislatures, agreed to maintain visits at all levels and mutual support within international organizations and multilateral forums, and exchanged views on the East Sea issue. They agreed to soon establish a bilateral friendship parliamentarian group, share law making experience, and work closely together at multilateral parliamentary forums.
