(VOVworld) – A ceremony to honor outstanding individuals and good deeds and models of studying and following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh took place on Thursday in Hanoi.

This is part of activities to mark the 59^th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day on October 10^th. In the 59 years since Liberation, the city has seen great changes and overcome serious challenges to economic growth and social security. The People’s newspaper ran an article in praise of Hanoi. It said in the past 59 years, Hanoi has become a major city in the region. Hanoi’s area is 18 times and its population is 17 times the area and population in 1954. According to the newspaper, with the solidarity, dynamism and creativity of Hanoi’s municipal Party Committee and people, the city will manage to overcome any difficulty to successfully fulfill its socio-economic targets and be a modern, civilized, and prosperous city.
