(VOVworld) – It’s necessary for further amendments and supplements to the draft Law on Marriage and Family to promote gender equality and ensure children’s rights. Delegates reached the consensus at a meeting organized on Thursday by Hanoi’s National Assembly Deputies to gather opinions for the revised Law at the 13^th National Assembly’s 7^th session, scheduled for this May.

They suggested establishing the legal age of marriage for both men and women at 18, to ensure cohesion with the Constitution and other laws and regulations related to gender equality. Regarding judicial separation, delegates also proposed that it was important to devise clear regulations or open articles for additional regulations when needed, to reduce possible disputes.
