Hong Kong businesses want to invest in Vietnam

(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said he hopes Vietnam and China’s Hong Kong will boost exchanges between government agencies, professional associations and businesses.

He made the remark while receiving Chief Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor in Hanoi on Wednesday. The Prime Minister confirmed that Vietnam will continue facilitating investment by Hong Kong companies in transport, infrastructure, electronic parts, the supportive industry, processing and the sale of farm produce. He asked the two sides to promote cooperation to develop strong sectors such as culture, tourism and employment. Prime Minister Phuc asked the Hong Kong administration to create favorable conditions so that Vietnam’s airlines can open flights and make stops at Hong Kong’s airport.

Ms. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor hailed Vietnam as Hong Kong’s third biggest trade partner in ASEAN. She said many Hong Kong enterprises want to invest in Vietnam.
