Hue Festival 2014: “Royal Palace Night” re-enacts royal ceremonies

(VOVworld) – “Royal Palace Night” recreating royal ceremonies like a reception for the queen mother returning to the palace and a princess’ wedding opened on Tuesday in a splendid space inside the Hue Imperial Citadel. This is the highlight of Hue Festival 2014. Differing from previous shows where spectators just observed, this year’s event encourages their involvement in old royal oratorio. The performance stretched along the eastern and western roads leading to the citadel.

Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Hue Relics Preservation Centre, said: “The show highlights a royal party where we restored many royal dishes reflecting the finest local cuisine. The royal treat includes 6 dishes believed to have given by the King to his relatives. All ingredients were top-quality and cooked meticulously. The dishes represent the bond of harmony and friendship between humans and nature.”

All the dishes were made by Ho Thi Hoang Anh, a renowned Hue culinary artisan and also a descendant of the last master chef of the Nguyen dynasty, assisted by other excellent cooks.
