(VOVworld) - The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the Ministry of Justice have held a seminar on legal assistance to women in Vietnam.

Chief Representative of UN Women Shoko Ishikawa said revisions to the Law on Legal Assistance will help to close loopholes in the legal system and increase Vietnamese women’s access to legal services. Delegates proposed increasing Vietnamese women’s access to legal services by applying international standards. They agreed that anyone regardless their gender or economic situation have the right to access legal services to protect their political, civil, economic, social, and cultural rights.
