India, Japan reiterate common vision in Asia

(VOVworld) – Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has reiterated that Japan and India share a common vision on promoting peace and stability in a new Asia with more opportunities and greater prosperity.

He made the remarks at the Tuesday reception for Japanese Emperor Akihito and Queen Michiko, who are visiting India. The President added that the Indian-Japanese relationship was built on a basis of similar democratic values, judicial regulations, and human rights protection. He said this relationship has gone beyond the framework of a normal bilateral relationship as both countries have become each other’s global partner with common strategic benefits. Therefore, India always treasures its close relationship with Japan.
