Indian naval ships visit Da Nang city

(VOVWORLD) - Three Indian naval ships anchored at Tien Sa Port in Da Nang on Monday, beginning a courtesy visit to the central city.

The ships include multi-role frigate INS Sahyadri, oil tanker INS Shakti and corvette INS Kamorta with a total of 913 officers and sailors on board, led by Rear Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, Commander of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet.

During the five-day trip, the crews will pay courtesy visits to leaders of the city’s People’s Committee and the High Command of Naval Region 3.

They will take part in basketball matches with officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 3 and students of Da Nang University, and stage a brass music show for the public at Bien Dong Park. They will also explore My Son sanctuary - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Hoi An ancient city, in Quang Nam province. The navies of the two countries will hold a joint exercise on the last day of the visit.
