(VOVworld)- Scientists have highly rated a South Korean microbiological method to detoxify soil contaminated with the Agent Orange/dioxin sprayed by the US during the war in Vietnam. The method was presented at a workshop in Hanoi on Thursday by the Korean Biological Company, Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, Korea Institute of Toxicology, and Korea Rural Company & Agriculture Corporation. It was the result of a joint project conducted by the Vietnam Association for the Conservation of Nature and the Environment and the Korean partners with the goal of finding solutions to detoxify land in A Luoi district – a site of many fierce battles in the war in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
Participants expressed hope that competent agencies at the central and local levels will create the best conditions for the researchers to implement the microbiological measure in A Luoi district as well as other areas to protect public health.
