Interpol says China's Meng resigned as president of the organization

(VOVWORLD) - Interpol, based in Lyon, France, said the senior vice president of its executive committee, Kim Jong Yang of South Korea, will become its acting president.

It will appoint a new president at next month’s meeting in Dubai. The announcement came after Meng Hongwei, who China says is being investigated for suspected violations of the law, resigned as president of Interpol.
