Iran and Pakistan foster cooperation in various fields

(VOVworld) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for closer cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in various fields, including the fight against terrorism.

At a talk with Pakistani President Nawaz Sharif during his visit to Pakistan from March 25 to 26, Iranian President Rouhani said the two countries need to further cooperation in various fields and cooperation between private sectors should be enhanced. He urged for fostering border transactions and facilitate trade liberalization and cooperation between Iran’s Chabahar and Pakistan’s Gwadar sea ports. Mr. Rouhani said Iran is willing to cooperate with Pakistan in energy and electricity sectors. Pakistani President Sharif agreed on the determination to raise two-way trade turnover to 5 billion USD per year and implement joint gas pipeline and boost cooperation between the two sea ports.
