Iran may roll back commitments to nuclear deal

(VOVWORLD) - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Twitter on Sunday that Iran is taking its second round of remedial steps under paragraph 36 of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and reserves the right to continue to exercise legal remedies within the deal to protect Iran’s interests in the face of the US’s economic terrorism.

Zarif said these steps are reversible only if the UK, France, and Germany uphold their commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal. The statement came a day after Iran announced that it will keep reducing its commitments every 60 days until the European signatories protect it from the sanctions imposed by President Donald Trump.

President Trump has warned Iran to be careful about its decisions. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said more sanctions will be imposed on Iran for its violations of uranium enrichment levels.
