Iran minister: US cyber attacks on Iranian targets fail

(VOVWORLD) - Recent US cyber attacks against Iranian targets have not been successful, Iran’s telecoms minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said on Monday, after reports that the Pentagon had launched a long-planned cyber attack to disable the country’s rocket launch systems.

The Washington Post said on Saturday that the cyber strikes had disabled Iranian  launch systems.

Tensions are running high between Iran and the US after US President Donald Trump on Friday said he called off a military strike to retaliate for Iran’s downing of a US drone. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, said Tehran welcomed a “defusion of tensions” in the region and that they did not want to see a rise in tensions and the inevitable consequences.
