Iran warns of tougher response to violation of borders
(VOVWORLD) - Iran warned the United States on Thursday against the violation of its borders, with parliament speaker Ali Larijani threatening a stronger reaction, this coming a week after Tehran shot down an American drone that spiked tension between the countries.
The downing of a US drone could be a useful experience for the US to avoid any aggression against Iran’s borders, the semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted Larijani as saying. He added that Iran’s next reaction will be stronger if the US repeats their mistake of violating Iran’s borders.
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Iran wouldn’t back down in the face of US sanctions, adding Tehran would not be "deceived" by Trump’s offer of negotiations.
