The latest wave of attacks, conducted by Al Qaeda associates, targeted Iraqi security forces. 2 car bombs exploded at the same time outside a restaurant and a tea-room killing 10 and wounding 26. US Secretary of State John Kerry said Washington will assist Baghdad in the fight against Al Qaeda terrorists but will not send US soldiers back to Iraq. Kerry delivered his statement as he departed Israel for Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The purpose of his visit is to shore up the peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine. He expressed his hope that the Iraqi government will defeat the Al Qaeda terrorists and promised that US support.
