(VOVworld) – On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invited the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas to Jerusalem for talks.

Mr. Abbas said four days ago during an interview on television that he was waiting for such invitation. Mr. Netanyahu said in a meeting with Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek that he invites President Abbas to Jerusalem and that they have a lot of things to discuss, but the first thing is ending the violence between Palestinians and Israelis.

Earlier, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin emphasized the need to carry out direct talks between the two countries and said he is willing to meet President Abbas to promote such talks.
