Mr. Phuc praised cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, saying Japan continues to be a leading economic partner of Vietnam.

Mr. Maeda said JBIC stands ready to work with Vietnamese partners in thermo-power projects that use advanced technologies to protect the environment. He recommended that Vietnam develop gas-fueled-power projects and carry out them  in the public-private partnership mode with risks shared between the Government and private companies. He said JBIC is considering loaning Electricity of Vietnam and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group money to develop environment-friendly power projects.
